Freestyle motocross

Freestyle motocross is breathtaking

Freestyle motocross is almost like a dance – a loud, zooming, fast-paced, badass dance, but a dance. Freestyle motocross is a dance between the dirtbikes and their riders, the different sportbikes themselves, and the riders and the audience. It combines elements of many different sports and activities, but there’s really nothing else like freestyle motocross in the sports or cycling worlds today.

Freestyle motocross isn’t really cycling, but it also isn’t really NOT cycling. Freestyle motocross does involve bikes – usually dirtbikes and sportbikes – but the bikes are ridden in a way that’s almost like the stunts and tricks pro skaters take on in their competitions and exhibitions. On top of that, freestyle motocross involves elements of auto racing. Engines rev, the buzz of the bikes fills the air just as it does with the car engines at an auto race. But even beyond that, freestyle motocross also involves elements of good old-fashioned bike racing.

Freestyle motocross is one of the riskiest sports out there today. With just one wrong flick of the wrist or a slightly incorrect angle, a freestyle motocross biker can end up breaking his or her neck, being paralyzed, or, in the worst situations, even dying. Many freestyle motocross riders will tell you that the risk is worth it, though, since the rush they get and the rush they give the audience is unmatched by any other rush on earth.
