Recumbent bikes

The recumbent bikes are an unusual way to get your daily ride!

You may not have realized it, but you’ve definitely seen recumbent bikes before. Recumbent bikes are those kind of odd-looking contraptions where the seat is behind the pedals and positioned horizontally rather than vertically. If you’re addicted to the stationary bikes in the gym, you’re already addicted to recumbent bikes without even knowing about it.

Bicycle trainers will tell you that recumbent bikes actually give you a more efficient workout for your body and your time. Recumbent bicycles are built ergonomically correctly. Unlike regular bikes or custom bikes, recumbent bicycles’ design factors your body’s makeup into its own build. You know that the position you take on a regular bike can be a little awkward and take some getting used to, but recumbent bikes feel completely natural the minute you sit down. Sure, it’ll take you a minute or two to get used to the idea that you’re riding a bike rather than just sitting down, but after that you’ll get the hang of it right away.

Because of the different shape, you should take a day or two to get used to riding recumbent bikes before you take them into busy areas. Bicycle trainers usually advise new recumbent bikes owners to head into a parking lot or another wide, open area where you can drive around aimlessly and get used to the feel. Another quick note: like custom bikes, recumbent bikes can be a little bit pricier than regular old bikes, but the difference in workout you’ll get is well worth your extra cash.
