They’re not hard and tough like dirtbikes, but tandem bicycles can withstand a lot of abuse. They’re made to be treated a bit rougher than regular bikes, since twice the people means twice the wear and tear. And sure, dirtbikes are great to watch and a sideshow unto themselves, but even they don’t stand up to the entertainment value of tandem bicycles. Tandem bicycles aren’t old-fashioned, but the fun they provide is.
